ABSTRACT

COVID-19 causes remote work from home arrangements to be implemented for limiting the spread of diseases. This article is interested to diagnose the impact of digital resources availability and remote leadership on work productivity. For examining the developed hypothesizes, this article has conducted a survey based study which involved 2,082 lecturers, teachers, and administration staffs from an Indonesian educational institute. The results reveal that digital resources and remote leadership have a significant positive impact on telework productivity. For keeping employees productive in telework arrangements, organizations should pay attention simultaneously on the availability of digital resources at employees' homes as well as increasing remote leadership capability of the supervisors. © 2022 IEEE.

ABSTRACT

COVID-19 pandemic may further decline productivity of the workforce in the future especially in higher education. This article aims to verify the significance of e-leadership as organizational factor, digital collaboration as job factor, and digital mastery as personal factor on the productivity of virtual work in higher education. Online survey and causal analysis were conducted for supporting this article. It's about 847 academic and non-academic staffs who were participating as the respondents. PLS based Structural Equation Modelling were utilized for structuring and calculating the collected data. The result of statistical analysis reveals that e-leadership affects positively and significantly but indirectly on the productivity of virtual work. Digital mastery and digital collaboration play moderating role in determining effect of e-leadership on work productivity. For maintaining and leveraging the productivity of employee in doing virtual work, the organization should direct leadership of academic managers as transformational leadership approach for developing digital mastery and encouraging digital collaboration. © 2021 IEEE.

ABSTRACT

COVID-19 has forced academics to work from home. This article aims to examine the impact of digital skill and availability of digital technology at home on work productivity. A quantitative study was held in an Indonesia prominent higher education institution. It was about 2.082 lecturers and administration staff participating in the study. Data was structured with SmartPLS version 3.3. The result explained that the availability of digital technology is a central point with impact on digital skill development and achievement of service, quantitative, and qualitative outcome as work productivity. For assuring work productivity, the institution should equip employee with digital technology at work and to enhance digital skill simultaneously. This Human-Machine Interaction (HCI) improves digital learning and becomes a positive catalyst for motivating lecturers to be more explorative and creative in their teaching techniques. © 2021 IEEE.
